MOTOR CYCLE UNION OF IRELAND SHORT CIRCUIT COMMISSION

Press release ref. ssc010811

The MCUI Short Circuit Commission wishes to relay information to all relevant persons on changes to Championships in 2012.
Irish Clubman Championship will have a number of competitors moved to the National ISB Championship in 2012, these competitors will have current championship position, lap times, race time, finishes and experience all looked at in the process. Competitors that are upgraded should notified by November 2011.

Pre 97 class will be dropped from Clubman’s Championship as proposed in 2009 and replaced with the Pre Injection class as run in Ulster Championship in 2011.

A new Production 650 twins class (Stocktwins) is being introduce to Clubman Championship. This class is for basically standard 650 twin machines with race exhaust systems and a few other minor changes just as Juniorstocks & Superstocks rules.

Both ISB & Clubman Championships will have 125GP class renamed Moto 3 incorporating the 125GP machines. Moto3 is the 250 4 stroke, single cylinder replacement class at World Championship level in 2012 and regulations and rules will be adopted to MCUI Short Circuit Championships.

The commission recognises the financial strain on everyone these days and are currently seeking offers of contract to supply Tyres to all classes in both championships from all manufactures with the best price to competitor’s number one priority.

Bridgestone have been our partners over a number of years in the Clubman’s Championship and the agreement ends in October 2011. We would like to thank and acknowledge the support and prize funds that were put into the Clubman Championships by Bridgestone Tyres.

Was happy to hear that bridgestone have lost the tyre deal, think the only people thanking them would be the MCUI and not the riders .Hopefully who ever gets selected as the supplier wont rip off riders like the last guy
