The 2010 Irish Superbike Championships will have a new fastest lap bonus in 2010, starting with this weekends opening rounds of the 2010 series at the MCRRCI & Killinchy Clubs Enkalon Trophy meeting at Bishopscourt in Co-Down, and the Belfast & District Easter Saturday event at Kirkistown.
For 2010, the fastest lap in selected class's at each Ulster Centre rounds, will carry a £50.00 bonus tag to the rider achieving the class fastest lap over the two legs run on the day.
The idea has been put together by Killyleagh man Willis Marshall, who will oversee the bonus award at each Ulster Centre meeting.
Willis Marshall"Each class in ISB will have the bonus tag awarded to them at some stage throughout the season. It will cover, 125, 250, Minitwins, SS600, Superbikes, and Sidecars.
The awards will be arranged through sponsors with the two Easter Weekend meetings covered. At the Easter Saturday meeting, the award will go to the rider with the fastest lap in the Supersport 600 class, and on Easter Monday, the rider in the Superbike Class will be awarded the bonus.
Roskyle Construction in Killyleagh have kindly sponsored the Easter Saturday award, while Killyleagh man Frank Gibson will be sponsoring the Easter Monday award".
