Department of Tourism and Leisure invites expressions of interest for Isle of Man TT Races commercial contracts - Four key contracts associated with the Races to be reviewed

The Department of Tourism and Leisure is inviting expressions of interest in four of the key commercial contracts associated with the Isle of Man TT Races.

The tender process for the contracts is part of the Isle of Man Government’s standard procedure to ensure that all contracts awarded by Government deliver optimum value.

The areas under consideration include Sponsorship Acquisition and Management, the Official Programme and Race Guide, the Official Website, and Public Relations.

The Department’s efforts to develop the TT’s commercial assets over the last three years have seen the value of sponsorships and licensing agreements increase significantly.

Hon Martyn Quayle, MHK, Minister for Tourism and Leisure commented:

“We are advertising for expressions of interest as the existing contracts have expired. We hope that our existing partners and others will be keen to work with us to take forward this iconic event. It is important that we review all of our commercial arrangements as they expire to ensure that we are achieving the best possible returns”.

“We have recently completed a comprehensive review of all of the trademarks associated with the TT and now have a clear operating framework with regard to their commercial value. We will capitalise on that work to generate the revenue we need to maintain the continued success and growth of the TT.”

Any expressions of interest should be submitted to the Isle of Man Government’s Department of Tourism and Leisure by Friday 25th September 2009.
