This year we organized the first Czech road racing championship after long twenty years. The Championship wasn´t organized by official authority - Autoklub Ceske republiky [czech motorcycle federation] but small group enthusiasts. During last winter me and my brother came with idea to declare road racing champions after season 2009. We got support of motorcycling clubs which organize road races in Czech republic. The report delighted many Czech fans and riders.
The championship was declared for classes • SPORT 125 [sportproduction] • GP 125 • GP 250 • SUPERMONO • OPEN 600 [supersport & superstock] • OPEN 1000 [superbike & superstock]
Six events were included to championship.
Slovacky okruh Uherske Hradiste 300 Zatacek Gustava Havla Horice Okruh Frantiska Bartose Radvanice Bezrucuv okruh Opava Zlaty kahanec na Terlickem okruhu Kyjovsky okruh
The championship was declared as open because many riders from abroad participate every year in races on our roads. So we could invite riders from Czech republic, Poland, Germany, Austria, Italy, France and Northern Ireland.
The first event at Uherske Hradiste was organized for classes SPORT 125, GP 125, GP 250 and SUPERMONO. At Horice we could see all classes. At Radvanice wasn/t only OPEN 1000 class. At Opava raced only SPORT and GP 125 classes. At Terlicko were all classes and in the final event were all classes expect OPEN 1000.
Top of championship was at Horice. There raced plenty of racers from all over Europe. Over 20,000 people could see fantastic fights between over 300 riders in all classes. It was only one event where we invited rider from Northern Ireland and France. Victor Gilmore raced in both big classes and he finished in 12ve [OPEN 1000] and 5th [OPEN 600].
The second most successful event was at Terlicko. This races were reopened last year after eighteens years break. So this year it was second year in its new history. Terlicky okruh is our fastest road racing circuit. Average speed is about 100 mph [our regulations don/t allowed higher average speed limit]. It was the first race when fans could see our the best road racer / Michal Dokoupil alias Indi #23 on bikes AIR KAWASAKI racing team.
The ceremonial where the best riders will be awarded is planning for 10th October. Ceremonial will arrange at Mecca of Czech road racing – at Horice.
