Mid Antrim 150 - With less than a week to go to the Mid Antrim 150 at Clough, Ballymena, preparations are nearing completion on the course set up. Jack Agnew who is Clerk of Course reports that the course is already set up to the highest standard he has seen it and with Grandstands and the Paddock hardware due to arrive this week Clough is ready for the Road Racing scene to return to Northern Ireland after the Southern Ireland races.
The club would urge spectators to use the Official Car Parks which are free and to come to the race prepared to buy a programme or at least make a donation. Car Parks are located on the outside of the circuit and for those who want to park at the new start / finish there is a car park behind the school at the Clough loop beside the paddock and finish line.
There is also the car park at the old start / finish before Fenton’s corner at Ballyreagh Road which can be used while the roads are closed. There are various other car parks around Clough all will be signposted.
There are three Grandstands erected, one at the exit of the loop at the new start / finish and a new Grandstand near the Paddock at a fantastic viewing area called Gregg’s. It is approx 200 yards before the finish line. The other small grandstand is at Fenton’s Corner. Check out the clubs website for more info and a map of the circuit.
Due to the numbers in the Walter Young Mazda Lightweight 125cc class and Clinton Enterprises Supertwins race these two races have now been split and will have their own separate race on the timetable. This decision has proved popular with both set of competitors and the club are delighted that the number of riders for these events has exceeded our expectations for the classes.
