As Jurby seems to be in the hands of Duke now, there will only be ONE date when the racers can test their bikes, at a cost of £75.00 for a 90 minute session. The test day will no doubt be over subscribed.
So If there are problems during practice, the only other way to test the repair or set up changes is during official practice itself.
I foresee this being a particular problem for the classic racers, as the fragility of some of these machines is often greater that the "modern" bikes.
It also adds yet another cost to the already stretched budgets of the racers.
At the TT, William Dunlop tested his bike on the open roads, unfortunately having a spill in the process-thankfully he walked away from it bruised but in one piece, and no-one else was involved.
This testing regime may well see some others doing the same- not good for the sport as a whole
