Ballymoney’s Seamus Elliott will ride for Wilson Craig Racing at the Armoy ‘Race of Legends’ at the end of July.

Elliott has been drafted into the team to compete on Craig’s Honda machines after Mullingar rider Derek McGee parted company from the outfit in an ‘amicable’ split.

McGee’s final race for Craig was at the Kells meeting in Co Meath in June and he has since switched back to the Kawasaki Superstock and Yamaha Supersport machines he raced under his own auspices last year, plus the Wogan Performance Kawasaki Supertwin.

Elliott, who took a fine runner-up finish at Walderstown on Sunday behind William Dunlop in the Supersport race, earned a career-best result with a brilliant victory in the class on his Yamaha at the Southern 100 last week.

Elliott said: “I’m looking forward to racing for Wilson at Armoy after a successful Southern 100 and decent results at the recent local races.”

The Armoy meeting takes place from July 24-25 and has attracted a quality line-up including Dean Harrison plus William Dunlop, Guy Martin and Michael Dunlop.
