After a notable period of absence from Ireland, we can announce that the Norton brand will be returning with a sales department and race entries in the careful hands of David and Erin Hamilton from Emerald Road Racing.

The launch of the dealership in Northern Ireland is a sign that the brand is going from strength to strength; it also re-enforces the connection between Northern Ireland and the glory days of the Norton machinery. Basing the HQ in Northern Ireland is a significant sign that there is confidence in the province.

The connection with the engineering dept. at Queens University may well be reignited in the near future; the team who worked with Prof G Blair during the featherbed frame design days are very excited at the prospect of seeing the new models and various meetings have been arranged to discuss potential collaboration.

David Hamilton told us “It’s a great opportunity to bring the highly regarded Norton brand back to racing events and also providing the ability to fulfil sales of these aspirational, hand built motorbikes. After attending the recent launch of the Dominator bike at a packed Donington Hall last weekend I know that the audience in Ireland will be keen to see the range available. The racing side of Norton is also growing in strength; we are delighted to be part of that development team.”

Many will remember with fondness the prowess of the Norton brand with Robert Dunlop at the helm, bringing the brand back to Ireland is certainly a step in the right direction to reignite the passion and affection the bikes bring.
