20TH SEPTEMBER 2014 @ BISHOPSCOURT RACING CIRCUIT

The Motor Cycle Road Racing Club of Ireland is pleased to announce our partners, sponsors and prize fund for

‘’The David Wood Memorial Trophy Races’’

This event will take place at Bishopscourt Racing Circuit on 20th September 2014.

The main class at this event will be the Supersport class as 600cc machines were introduced to Ireland by David Wood under the Regal Championship banner in the late 1980s.

We are pleased to announce that long term partner of Team Wood - Pirelli Tyres will be the sponsor of the Supersport class. Pirelli Tyres are the main tyre supplier for World Superbikes and British Superbikes, proven manufacturers and race winners.

Pirelli Tyres Supersport overall class winner will receive The David Wood Memorial Trophy, a set of Pirelli tyres and £800. 2nd place Trophy £500 and a Pirelli rear tyre, 3rd place Trophy £300 and a Pirelli front tyre. 4th £150, 5th £100, 6th £90, 7th £80, 8th £70.

Pirelli Tyres Supersport “Sail to Pole” by Nutttravel.com After Supersport timed practise session a pole position shoot out will take place for the fastest 10 competitors from the timed session with the fastest competitor gaining Pole Position and the Nutttravel.com ‘’SAIL to POLE’’ £100.

Pirelli Tyres Supersport fastest lap of the 2 races receives £100 Donated by Mr Leslie Anderton formerly of Cladding Contracts.

Wiz Knee Sliders Superbike Class has another of Team Wood partners supporting this event.

Wizracing.co.uk, one of the best Knee sliding products in the UK. We are very pleased that Will Bennett has put his support into the event with Wiz Knee Sliders.

Wiz Knee Sliders Superbike overall class winner will receive The Joe Lindsay Cup plus £400, 2nd Trophy £300, 3rd Trophy £200 plus Wizracing.co.uk will provide WIZ Sliders products for the podium positions.

Wiz Knee Sliders Superbike fastest lap of the 2 races £100 donated by another friend of David Wood.

Emerald Supersport & Superbike Cup Classes. We welcome Emerald Road Racing onboard as classes sponsor.

Emerald Road Racing is the local racing magazine at the coal face of Irish road & circuit racing. Supersport & Superbike cup competitors will have combined races with awards for each class.

Emerald Supersport Cup overall 1st receives a Trophy plus £120, 2nd Trophy £90, 3rd Trophy £60

Emerald Superbike Cup 1st overall receives a Trophy plus £120, 2nd Trophy £90, 3rd Trophy £60

Fastest lap by any Emerald Cup competitor over two races receives £70 donated by a friend of David Wood.

Robinsons Concrete Supertwins & Production Twins has Robinson Concrete Ltd of Claudy & Ballymoney putting core strength into the Twins classes, another local company and long time sponsor of Team Wood including the Uel Duncan Racing Team.

First, second and third overall in both Twin classes will receive a Trophy each and £150, £100 & £70 respectively.

Ophir Motors Dundrod Sidecar class which always produces exciting three wheel action. Ophir Motors Dundrod is a long time partner and friend of the MCRRCI and will sponsor the Sidecar class. They are Irelands leading supplier of Replacement Ford car body panels and replacement car panels.

Sidecars awards are 1st overall receives The Edwin Neill Trophy presented by The Killinchy & District MCC plus £150, 2nd Trophy £100, 3rd Trophy £50.

Nutttravel.com Moto 3 Our very own local travel Package Company, British Championship competitors. Nutt Travel.com will sponsor the Moto3 class which race concurrently with 400cc Lightweight. Billy and Marty Nutt the force behind the annual Kings Hall Motorbike show, provide discount travel packages for local competitors heading across the channel to compete.

Kenny Duncan Plant, Lifford Lightweight ss400, A very familiar name associated with David Wood, Uel Duncan is the sponsor of this class. Uel is currently spending more time at home with his family after a long period of time as a competitor himself and then running the very successful Uel Duncan Racing Team.

Overall class awards 1st Trophy £150, 2nd Trophy £100, 3rd Trophy £50

SIGNstiK Pre Injection/GP 250. Signstik Dundrod signage and display design company managed by former Irish Road Race Champion and Team Wood rider James Countney.

Signstik have produced MCRRCI podium backdrops and signage for a number of years and produce top quality goods no matter the size.

SIGNstiK Pre Injection/GP 250 awards are for overall podium positions, a Trophy each plus £150, £100, £70 respectively. 1st GP250 £70

SIGNstiK Pre Injection/GP250 combined classes fastest overall lap award £100 donated by NI Car Sales.

Enkalon Club Production 125/250 The future Champions of Motorcycling in Ireland start of in this class and it is fantastic that the Enkalon Club are Sponsoring this class. The Enkalon Club formerly sponsored the Clubmans Championship and it is fitting that they support these young competitors! Enkalon Club awards are again for podium positions. 1st Trophy plus £120, 2nd Trophy plus £80 and 3rd Trophy plus £60.

One main product name which connects David Wood with a great number of competitors over the years was Arai Helmets. David was instrumental in bringing Arai to Ireland and this event is no different. Arai Helmets are the sponsor of the Man of the Meeting award,

The Arai Helmets Man of the Meeting will receive a New Arai Helmet. The Arai Helmet Man of the Meeting award will be based on a point system on 1st -3rd position finishes, Pole Positions and fastest laps. Competitors in all classes have a chance of winning this award.

www.Nutttravel.com is providing travel packages for cross channel competitors and spectators who may wish to attend this event.

The Motor Cycle Road Racing Club of Ireland are grateful to all the above named sponsors and partners, also to the anonymous donations for fastest laps etc, making this event a fitting tribute to David Wood.
