The Manx Motor Cycle Club regrets to announce that Stephen McIlvenna, 39, from Randalstown in Northern Ireland was killed during yesterday evening’s qualifying session at the 2014 Manx Grand Prix on the Isle of Man in an incident at the Mountain Mile.



McIlvenna was an experienced racer who first competed in the Manx Grand Prix in 2005. He won the 2009 Junior Manx Grand Prix. He also competed in the TT Races in 2010.



The Manx Motor Cycle Club wish to pass on their deepest sympathy to Stephen’s family and friends.



The Coroner of Inquests has been informed and an investigation into the circumstances of the accident is underway.
