The sun has set and the last of the puddles have dried up on the 2014 AXABikecare Skerries100 and it was an eventful weekend. It all kicked off in classic style for the parade lap on Thursday evening with some truly remarkable bikes in all shapes and sizes. We had a huge entry list and all proceeds will be donated to Movember and Caring for Caroline Medical Trust at our Awards night in November.

The weather was not on our side on Friday and practise was untimed, which meant that all girds were based on

Championships points. Saturday morning we woke up to blue skies and sunshine, it is true the sun always shines on Skerries race day. Racing got underway and the crowd were thoroughly entertained by fantastic display of road racing talent. Thank you to all the road racers for putting on a show and racing hard. We must give a special mention to our newcomers, Skerries isn't an easy track to get your head around and they had a limited amount of track time on Friday in bad weather conditions.

We would like to thank every rider that took part in this year’s Skerries 100 and congratulations to our podium finishers and in fact to all that crossed the line. The day did throw up some incidents and we want to wish the riders a speedy recovery. Big thank you to the medical team who yet again were outstanding all weekend.

Thank you to Andrea Cassells, Aly Dixon and the AXABikecare Team for their support on the lead up to and over the last 3 days. Each year our relationship gets stronger and we are so very lucky to have the backing of AXA, one of Ireland's largest and oldest insurance companies. Long may it continue. Thank you to all our race sponsors as listed above who make it happen each year and also to our advertisers in the programme and of course the various businesses that help us throughout the year and around the event.

Road Racing is an incredible sport, extreme and exhilarating. Watching our road racers tackle the narrow roads is a privilege and we hope that it continues on getting stronger and more accessible to a wider audience. The clubs throughout the country work so hard to run their events and we salute you all from one club to another and thank those of you who came along to support our event this weekend.

Next stop for LMCSC is the Country Crest Killalane Road Races 5th, 6th and 7th of September and we will be celebrating our
