Current British Supersport champions and double North West 200 winners Mar-Train Racing were suitably honoured for their recent achievements, during at a civic reception at Lagan Valley Island in Lisburn, Northern Ireland earlier this week.

Mar-Train Racing team owner Tim Martin said of the accolade: “It’s always nice to be recognised on home soil, especially for achievements across the water in British championship, which can sometimes go unnoticed.

“It was pleasing to be able to bring my family and team members along to show them some recognition for all their support, dedication and hard work this past few years; and it was also great to have our current rider Alastair Seeley present on the night after his wins at the NW200 in May.”

Speaking of the team’s phenomenal debut at the Isle of Man TT this year, Martin added: “Dean Harrison wasn’t with us on the night to enjoy the celebrations, but he has been very much part of our success story this year so far, especially with his two fourth places in the Supersport races at the TT. Hopefully we can now go on and retain our British Supersport title with Alastair and have additional success with Dean at the upcoming road races this season.”

The reception was hosted by the Chairman of the Council's Leisure Services Committee, Alderman Paul Porter and was attended by elected members. Deputy Mayor of Lisburn, Councillor Andrew Ewing, said: "As a motorcycle fan I am delighted to be here to recognise the success of Lisburn residents on the track.

“Northern Ireland has a long and illustrious history of motorcycle racing and has produced some of the best known riders and teams in the world.  Congratulations to Tim and Sonya and all involved with Mar-Train Racing on their British championship success; and also on the roads at the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT.”
