Ryan Farquhar will be aiming to secure his second Supertwin victory at the Vauxhall International North West 200 on Thursday evening, two years after the Ulster star won the inaugural race for the class on the Triangle circuit.
Farquhar has come out of retirement and returns to the north coast meeting for the first time since 2012, where he led home a KMR Kawasaki one-two-three to win from Jeremy McWilliams and Michael Rutter on a famous night for the Dungannon team.
Last year’s winner McWilliams and Farquhar are joined by Scotsman Keith Amor - also making his racing comeback this season - and young prospect Connor Behan from Cheshire.
“So far everything is going to plan but you need luck on the day as well and all we can do is hope everything works out how we want it to,” Farquhar said.
“We’ve done it before and it would be nice to do it again. It would be something special if there were four KMR bikes at the front of the field tomorrow in the race.
“We’re all up for it and there’s no doubt that I’ll be having a go, Keith and Jeremy are up for it and there’s no reason why Connor can’t be there or thereabouts either.”
Amor topped the Supertwin times on Tuesday followed by Farquhar and circuit newcomer Behan, with McWilliams seventh.
Farquhar added: “Jeremy only managed one flying lap on Tuesday and you’d be a fool to think that was his limit. I would expect him to up his pace quite a bit tomorrow.
“From my point of view, to look at the time sheets on Tuesday and see the KMR SGS bikes first, second, third and seventh gave me a great buzz.”
