Antrim's Mark Hanna riding the Roy Hanna Motors 250 Honda, set the pace to defending D&GW Champion Thomas Lawlor in the opening two rounds over the Easter weekend, with Hanna clearing the way in the first two races at the Killinchy & MCRRCI Clubs Easter Saturday races at Bishopscourt, but had to play second fiddle to Lawlor at the Belfast & Districts Short Circuit at Kirkistown on Easter Monday, when Lawlor took his brace of wins on the Tommy Two Stroke 250 Honda.

In what is shaping up to be an epic encounter between the pair in 2013, Hanna, looked sharp and took good advantage of Lawlors misfortune in race one at Bishopscourt, after the Kildare rider got caught up in a tangle with a Pre-Injection rider, who's class is running concurrently with the 250GP machines in 2013.
Nigel Percy on the D&GW Honda took second place with Adam McLean on Bob Pattersons 250 Honda third.

In race two, Hanna again called the shots, taking maximum points over the two legs.  This time, Lawlor finished in runner up position with McLean again showing his class, with another third place finish on what was his first outting on the Bob Patterson machine.

Lawlor, with the bit firmly between his teeth, took a double win at Kirkistown on Easter Monday when he made amends for his Bishopscourt race one.   In race one, he took the flag from Hanna and McClean, while in race two, Lawlor again set the benchmark with another text book style win from Hanna and Padraig Graham on the second D&GW Honda.

The next D&GW Championship race will take place at the Mondello Park International racing circuit on 25th and 26th May.
