Gino and Ten Kate Honda had another very successful weekend at Magny Cours with a podium finish in 2nd and the Superstock 600 Championship lead going into the final race at Portimao. Gino started from second on the grid but after a few small mistakes was pushed back to 8th after the opening two laps. Rea settled in and came back through the pack, setting the fastest lap on the way. Gino was invloved in a last lap scrap for the win and finished 2nd, 0.2 tenths from the win. This leaves Gino at the top of the championship table, 3 points ahead of Italian Petrucci and 7 infront of Belgian Lonbois.

Gino:

"Magny Cours went pretty much to plan and we have come out leading the WSB Superstock 600 championship. The start of my race didn’t go how I wanted it to, I was a little eager and pushed a bit too much in the first couple of laps, I ended up going backwards to 8th place. I regrouped and settled down but was having small problems with my clutch, I made my way back up to the front and finished the race in 2nd. It was perfect for my championship, I lead by 3 points and the final race is Portimao. Last year I won there, so I hope I can have the same success and clinch the championship title this year!"
