The Gearlink Kawasaki Supersport team is fully prepared and raring to go in round seven of the Fuchs/Silkolene British Supersport championship that takes place at Mallory Park on Sunday.
Lincolnshire rider Ben Wilson rose to the occasion at the short and twisty Scottish circuit of Knockhill last time out and streaked away to take his first class win for Gearlink Kawasaki. With Mallory Park being another short 1.41-mile track the Kirton ace is keen to add to his points tally. The 27-year-old rider currently holds fourth place in the rider standings but after his outstanding ride north of the border is only one point away from a top three position.
Chris Martin is also keen to get back on track after recording an eighth place at Knockhill and anticipates a strong result at the Leicestershire circuit to boost his championship challenge.
Jamie Hamilton is without a race this weekend as the National Superstock championship doesn’t visit Mallory. He enjoyed two races at Knockhill last week, scoring a third place and then his second win for the team in the last race of the day to make it a double celebration for Gearlink Kawasaki.
Hamilton will be back in action for Gearlink Kawasaki at Brands Hatch on August 9.

I like the Mallory Park circuit, the Leicestershire track has been good to me in the past and I can see no reason why I should not be up there battling towards the front once again. But the competition is close and there are a number of riders who are more than capable of pulling off a result so it won’t pay to be complacent. I realise I do not have an easy task ahead of me, but the Gearlink Kawasaki ZX-6R is a top machine and I have every confidence in the team. They will prepare the bike and the rest is down to me.

Last year the weather affected my performance at Mallory. I started the race from a front row grid position but a wrong tyre choice after a shower of rain meant that I was unable to complete the race. I do like the Mallory Park track layout and will be keeping my fingers crossed the weather behaves this time.

After Ben's fantastic achievement at Knockhill we have to aim to stay at the front for the rest of the season. So, with this in mind, we shall go to Mallory Park and work even harder to obtain our goal.
Free practice takes place on Friday prior to the two qualifying sessions on Saturday. Racing is set for Sunday with the 25-lap British Supersport race due on circuit at 3.30pm.
